A house with a fire place has a FLU for the smoke to rise and leave so that it doesn’t fill the house with smoke to the point where you can’t stay in the house. The FLU has a VENT to open and close when needed. Your body actually FLUs and VENTS 24 hours a day. And sometimes it gets overwhelmed and opens up ALL the VENTS in the house (your body) for immediate clearing.
Whilst VENTING can be uncomfortable, it is completely natural and is the cure or method of clearing the debris out of your body. VENTING comes in the form of perspiration, breathing (20,000 times a day), sweating, congestion, rashes, muscle soreness, coughing, bowel movements, vomiting, fever, colds, and so on.
It’s interesting because these things all represent VENTING of filth and waste. When we don’t support this process of VENTING by following the principles of health then the VENTS become clogged and blocked…which then leads to other SYMPTOMS. Symptoms are literally a sign or signal of an offense still in the body – which today is typically referred to as “DIS-EASE”. Vaccines add to the debris and can even lead to greater levels of toxicity and stress in the body which can show up as serious symptoms down the road.
VENTING is actually about PRE-VENTING discomfort or dis-ease in the body that will otherwise form if you do not allow your house to clean out. The only way you can have a disease (discomfort), is if you don’t allow the process of eliminating the overwhelm to occur that has built up in your body.
So as the seasons change, rather than stressing out when you or your children get the sniffles or even a fever or cold, here’s what you should do…
• Avoid suppressing the symptoms with a pharmaceutical drug. Yes, you might get some symptomatic short-term relief, but the effects of the harmful toxic residues that are left behind will show up down the road
• Realise that your body is ‘cleaning house’ during this period and the best thing you can do is to support it during the cleansing process by resting often
• Take a hot, salt bath
• Cut down on your intake of meat and animal products and increase your intake of citrus fruits, wholefoods and good sea salt
• Drink plenty of clean water to help flush out your system

Since there are many medications and alternative treatments available to treat infectious illnesses, some people may wonder what need there is for coconut oil? There are several good reasons.
Firstly, you can use coconut oil with other treatments to enhance their effectiveness – you will see why as you read more below
Coconut oil is a food with proven healing properties and has no harmful side effects. Drugs are largely chemicals that are foreign to the human body and, therefore, toxic to some degree – even the over-the-counter ones.
One of the now-well-known drawbacks with antibiotics is that they tend to kill all the bacteria in the body – including the good bacteria in our intestinal tract. Good bacteria produce beneficial nutrients such as Vitamin K and some of the B vitamins, they keep the digestive tract functioning properly, help break down food to release nutrients and prevent the overgrowth of harmful bacteria and yeasts. Yeasts, which are not affected by antibiotics, grow unrestrained when the good bacteria are killed, often causing infection.
Coconut oil does not harm the good bacteria in the intestinal tract plus it kills candida, the organism that causes yeast overgrowth.
Antiviral drugs don’t kill viruses – they just slow viral growth. Your immune system must do the fighting. Therefore, coconut oil, which both kills viruses and boosts your immune system, plays a very important role in fighting viruses. Currently, it is the only known antiviral substance that can do this.
Being a product of nature, rather than a creation from a laboratory, many people feel safer using coconut oil. Also, coconut oil can be much cheaper than medications and more convenient to use. Coconut oil used in daily cooking and food preparation creates set preventative health measures and infection-fighting assistance without any extra expense at all.
While MCFA (Medium Chain Fatty Acids, contained in coconut oil) may be effective in killing many disease-causing microorganisms, they do not kill all of them so you can’t rely on it completely for every illness. In one respect this is good because it doesn’t harm friendly gut bacteria – but at times you may need other forms of treatment or medication.
However, coconut oil can still be helpful even in these situations as it strengthens the immune system to make it more effective. In this respect it can be useful to some degree for any type of infection
The maintenance dose of coconut oil, i.e. recommended daily dose for ongoing good health, is generally listed as 3 tablespoons a day. Here is further detail in regards to weight plus information on therapeutic doses

This is a general guideline only – not an absolute rule. Take the amount that is comfortable for you.
Do not consume all the oil at one time. Spread it out over the entire day, taking some at one meal and some at another. It is oil – so be kind to yourself! Start slow and work your way up.
Ways to consume coconut oil include straight from the spoon or mix it with warm milk or food. The easiest way is to prepare your food with coconut oil – use coconut oil for frying and baking; put some in the pot when cooking rice, pasta, veggies etc. Definitely use it as your ONLY cooking oil.
Remember coconut oil goes solid at cool temperatures so for salads, mix it 50 / 50 with pure extra-virgin olive oil and the mixture will remain liquid.

Use it as a body and hair moisturiser. By doing this, you will ingest another tablespoon of oil every day as it soaks in through your skin, giving you clear soft skin – easy! If applying coconut oil direct to dry skin leaves you all greasy, it is best to only put the oil on when wet after a warm shower or bath and your pores are open. If you do this with regularity, later down the track you will be able to apply the oil straight to dry skin and have it soak in beautifully
In most cases, even when you are sick, 3.5 tablespoons of coconut oil per day is generally adequate. However, the anti-microbial affects of Medium Chain Fatty Acids (MCFA’s) are cumulative, so the more you have in your body the more effective they are in fighting off infections. A tablespoon or so taken every 2 – 3 hours is a good schedule to follow. Too much oil, any oil, if you are not accustomed to it, will give you loose stools, so spread the amount throughout the day and eat it with a little food or drink.
There is no danger of overdosing on coconut oil. Coconut oil is a food, not a drug. People working on serious health problems (including cancer and HIV) have taken 10 to 14 tablespoons a day and experienced no adverse side effects. If you take more than your body can handle, the worst symptoms you might experience are a runny stool and perhaps intestinal uneasiness for a time. To avoid this, simply reduce the amount of oil.
If you cannot consume the oil or any other food because of nausea and vomiting, apply the oil topically to the area that is most infected, as well as all over. You can also apply a coconut-oil-soaked bandage to your body to allow a constant soaking of the oil. Where possible, it is a good idea to consume both internally and externally to take full advantage of the oil’s healing properties.

“The auditorium was filled to capacity. “Where is he?” people were whispering as they glanced around the room. “Has Tony arrived yet?” someone asked. Tony was a special guest speaker at the symposium ‘Why Coconut Cures’ held in the city of Manila, in the Philippines. In attendance were several hundred coconut enthusiasts, including physicians, scientists and government officials. Also in attendance was one of Tony’s doctors, Dr Conrado Dayrit, a professor of pharmacology at the University of the Philippines and a former president of the National Academy of Science and Technology. You see, Tony is an AIDS survivor. He was at the symposium to tell the incredible story of his return from the dead.
‘You don’t know how hard it is for one to have an illness that others find repulsive’ he told the audience ‘I had wanted to shut myself inside my room and just wait for my time to die.’
Tony was infected with HIV while working in the Middle East a few years earlier. When he returned home to the Philippines he was diagnosed with full blown HIV. At this time, Tony was in terrible shape. He was losing weight, had repeated bouts of vomiting and diarrhea, accompanied by a fever and persistent cough. Secondary infections encompassed his entire body. He had pneumonia, oral candidiasis and chronic fatigue syndrome. He was so exhausted that he could hardly pull himself out of bed. His skin was covered with infections from head to toe. Everywhere his skin was flaking, cracking and bleeding. His hair was falling out in clumps; he looked so bad he wore a wig to hide the bald spots and oozing sores in his scalp. The doctors didn’t expect him to live much longer. ‘I felt like a candle that was starting to flicker and die’ he said.
Unable to afford medication, he sought help from the Department of Health. He was referred to Dr Conrado Dayrit. Dr Dayrit had participated in a landmark HIV study a few years earlier. In this study, HIV infected patients were given the equivalent of 3.5 tablespoons of coconut oil a day. Because the patients couldn’t afford medications they received no additional treatment. After three months, 60% of the patients were showing signs of improvement, a clear indication that the coconut oil treatment was working. Normally, without treatment, those with HIV gradually get worse. Although numerous laboratory experiments had previously shown that coconut oil possessed antiviral properties that could knock out HIV, this was the first clinical study to verify these findings.
Dr Dayrit instructed Tony to consume 6 tablespoons of coconut oil daily and apply additional coconut oil over the infections on his skin. Over the next several months when he would go back to the clinic for his periodic checkups the medical staff were amazed at his progress. They couldn’t believe that he was improving more with the coconut oil than he had with the antiviral medications.
(Bruce Fife) met Tony for the first time at the conference. (Bruce) was also one of the speakers. It was less than nine months since Tony had begun his coconut oil therapy. In this time his skin had completely cleared up. His hair had grown back, so that he no longer needed the wig. All of his secondary infections were gone. He got his energy back and he got his life back. You couldn’t tell by looking at him that just a few months earlier he was literally on his death bed dying from HIV.
Now, Tony may never be completely free from the HIV virus. It will probably remain with him for life, but with regular use of coconut oil he is able to live a relatively normal life and enjoy a level of health much like everyone else.
Less than nine months after starting the coconut oil therapy, Tony stood before the audience to tell his story for the first time. ‘HIV virus has not been curable until now’ he said. ‘The antiretrovirals cannot control the infection, which is why a lot of my friends died. Doctors cannot predict how long I will live. When I was diagnosed, my doctors told me I wouldn’t live another three months. Well, here I am now. I’m still standing.’

And I will add my own testimony as well – in late 2013, I suffered a severe blow to the head which resulted in soft tissue injury. After the hit, my back muscles became stiff – across my shoulders and down my spine. My doctor said all I needed to do was stretch regularly, which I did for three days. I love stretching so it felt good – and I presumed I was doing good. But what I was actually doing was taking away my body’s natural protection around the as-yet-undiscovered soft tissue injury. How to beat IBS
AVOID SUSPECT FOODS: Many sufferers of IBS are lactose and gluten intolerant. Other common food culprits are simple sugars, sorbitol, fructose, coffee, cola, tea, chocolate, onions, citrus, spicy foods, and the ‘gassy’ veggies such as cauliflower, cabbage, brussel sprouts and broccoli. Keep a food diary and record daily foods eaten, stress levels, and symptoms.
EAT MORE FIBRE: Eat plenty of insoluble fibre found in greens, been, and pulses. This bulks up faecal matter and speeds up its passage through the intestines. Water soluble fibre helps your intestines function more efficiently, as well as helping to lower cholesterol. Good sources include apples, oats, psyllium husks, chia seeds, and flaxseeds. Start with a small amount (one teaspoon) until your colon adjusts to the extra fibre and make sure you stay well hydrated.
EAT MORE FATTY ACIDS: Omega 3’s or essential fatty acids are anti-inflammatory and soothe the gut. Eat plenty of avocados, oily fish, flaxseeds and the good oils such as olive, walnut and coconut. Avoid fried foods, meats and margarines. Eat small, frequent meals so you don’t overload your digestive system.
EXERCISE REGULARLY: Whenever possible do at least 30 minutes of non-competitive exercise. Exercise is a good stress reliever, releases pain-killing endorphins, and acts as an intestinal stimulant.
HELPFUL HERBS: Slippery Elm soothes and coats the intestinal tract and eases inflammation and soreness. Take 1 tsp in warm water before meals or 2 capsules.
Peppermint tea relaxes the intestines, reducing spasms and relieves wind. Drink 1-3 cups daily.
Ginger tea also soothes the gut, reduces nausea, and stimulates digestion. Grate 1/2 tsp fresh ginger root into hot water and steep for 5 minutes before drinking.
The most common question I get re Oil Pulling is “what’s that?”
It is the act of putting about half a teaspoon of oil – I only use coconut oil because of its very high list of healthful properties – in your mouth and swishing it around your mouth (like when you rinse after cleaning your teeth) for about 15-20 minutes, working the oil by pushing, pulling, and drawing it through the teeth.
“What?!! Why?” – there they go again
The oil acts like a cleanser. When you put it in your mouth and work it around your teeth and gums it “pulls” out bacteria and other debris. It acts much like the oil you put in your car engine. The oil picks up dirt and grime. When you drain the oil, it pulls out the dirt and grime with it, leaving the engine relatively clean. Consequently, the engine runs smoother and lasts longer. Likewise, when we expel harmful substances from our bodies our health is improved and we run smoother and last longer
And because oil pulling can help asthma, allergies, chronic fatigue, diabetes, migraine headaches, PMS, and chronic skin problems. Oil pulling works by detoxifying or cleansing the body, removing disease promoting toxins, thus allowing the body to heal itself. As a consequence, health problems of all types improve.
1) best on an empty stomach ie before a meal. Once a day but can do up to 3 times a day
2) I do something as I am oil pulling eg I get dressed. do hair, make bed – all the general get-ready for the day stuff. This makes it much easier to oil pull for the 15 – 20 minutes required.
3) If you need to spit out before the time period is up, do so – then take a new amount of oil and continue
3) IMPORTANT when you spit out, spit into the garbage bin, not a sink or toilet. The coconut oil will harden in the cold water or against the cold pipes and eventually block your drains. NEVER swallow the oil because it is loaded with bacteria, toxins, pus, and mucous.
But there is testimony after testimony to back up this crazy suggestion. And now my own – when I first wrote on oil pulling, I decided it was mostly for those with a condition, to remove problems already established. But I read more and realised I needed to do this daily, even though I was feeling and looking healthy on all counts at the time.
After just a few days, I began to wake up with a blocked nose every morning. It persisted – even though I felt fine for the rest of the day.
After 4 weeks, I suddenly had a personal experience of the many testimonies I had read. I will care for you by not giving you the fine details but wanting to keep it nice, I experienced flu-like symptoms for about 10 days and could not believe the purging that came from many directions within.
As I knew what was happening, I stayed calm and went with it – in fact, after the initial surprise, I was rejoicing! Once the worst was over (about 4-5 days), I added a herbal multi-vitamin mixture to assist my body up and out the other side.
I have had sinus issues over the years but extremely minimal, in fact rare over the last 20 years or so. Now I have to admit to a clearness of breathing that I didn’t realise I wasn’t living before. I am still amazed – remember I looked healthy from every angle before daily oil pulling
Oil pulling traces it roots to oil gargling practiced in Ayurvedic medicine (but an Indian friend of mine denies this). Oil pulling as we know it today, was introduced in 1992 by Dr. F. Karach, MD. who claimed that oil pulling could cure a variety of illnesses ranging from heart disease and digestive troubles to hormonal disorders. He said it cured him of a chronic blood disorder of 15 years duration and within three days it cured his arthritis, which at times was so painful he was bed ridden. He used the method in his medical practice with great success. Frankly, I don’t care any more where it comes from – oil pulling has a very powerful cleansing and healing affect not only on the mouth and sinuses, but the entire body.

All you are doing is rinsing your mouth out with a food. You’re not even swallowing the oil. What can be more benign than that? Nearly anyone can do it, regardless of their level of health.
